What lies behind us and what lies before us are tiny matters compared to what lies within us." -R.W. Emerson |
Welcome to CCLA's counseling page! As the School Counselor, I have the joy of working with students through classroom lessons, small group counseling and individual counseling. I also regularly collaborate with school staff and parents in order to best meet the needs of all students. This page will provide you with general information, resources, activities and ways to contact me. Si se puede! Love, Ms. Nicole ***Please note: I will NOT be providing counseling services over summer break. Please check the "Parents" page for Sonoma County mental health resources.*** |
CLASS LESSONS
I aim to visit each classroom multiple times throughout the school year and have the opportunity to interact with every student during these lessons. Lessons typically last 30 minutes in length (15-20 for virtual lessons) and cover topics such as school readiness skills, understanding feelings of self and others, problem solving skills, friendship skills, and study skills.
SMALL GROUPS
I offer a variety of small groups throughout the year to students who may benefit from spending some extra time developing academic, social or emotional skills. Groups typically have 4-8 members and meet 30 minutes once a week during the regular school day. Each group usually runs for 6-8 weeks.
INDIVIDUAL COUNSELING
For a small number of students, I offer one-on-one counseling to assist with pressing social or emotional challenges. Please note that this is NOT therapy and should not be used in place of outside therapeutic services.
